Well….. over the lockdown there was a plan to repair the play area in the village. But, with the old lockdown malarkey it all got postponed… it was nearly sorted last year but… we got locked down again 😪
Anyway roll on to this year, things started to progress… I managed to get replacement boards to replace the weak and rotten bits on the aerial rope way and slide on my account at the builders merchants….. also managed to sort out 10 cubic meters of wood chip from AW Jenkinsons.. this stuff is what they supply for play areas.
I organised and paid for the materials myself
On top of that, i had to get some posts fir fencing repairs here at Republic HQ, so, i asked Peter my go to supplier of all things wooden if he’d split 10 9f my post so that i could donate them to the play area.
All i had to do was cut them down into 3rd’s to make stakes to support the kick boards.
Anyway, the repairs project is well underway…. the bags of chopped wood are now delivered and i borrowed a telehandler to deposit them over the fence and into the play area.
There’s also new seats for the swings…. hopefully this is going to be done by the village volunteers soon

I penned this back in August but forgot to post it….. things have progressed by way of, all works have been carried out by a cracking bunch of Saturday heroes 👏…
The play area is once again back to usefulness, although we could do with a bit more bark chips..
