Tentative steps..😁

Ok so here we go, my first couple of days off from the cloud factory since Christmas … first things first.. a morning sorting and shedding sheep. There’s 7 of last year’s little darlings Destined for the pot. These are now booked in and will be returned ready dressed for the freezer😣 i know, its a bit sad for all the vegi’s out there but believe me it needs to happen.

This’ll be them…. but not my tups, the boys are taking a break from fatherly duties this year …. i have to many and need the flock downsizing. So…. if you want a couple of rare breed soay sheep…i have spares πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

What a day to be sorting the sheep… blustery and wet squally showers… everything’s sodden with H2o..even my budgie smugglers πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Anyhoo.. its all sorted and there’s eight to go to slaughter this September..

I’ve even purchased a new freezer and some cool boxes in readiness…

Here’s the tups having a sabbatical… i just love this photo of the boys with a  waining moon or moonset.. taken just before Christmas..14th of December to be precise….. I’d been on night’s and the sun was just peeping out from the east while the full moon was dropping over the western horizon… lovely morning

Check out the man in the moon😁😁😁

Anyhoo…that’ll be me  off for a hot bath now… catch you later..😁

  1. That’ll be a big freezer for 8 sheep πŸ™‚

What I always wanted to know is how do you know you’re getting back the same sheep you took in? Do you just have to trust the abbatoir?

    • Yep.. its a lot of trust… mind you, with the soay sheep, irs easy to tell.. there half the size of regular commercial breeds… and if you go to a small operation like a butcher who does his own its much better for the animal welfare as well
