Another day spent out and adout in the republic.
Started this morning by visiting a roman fort at corbridge. This is so close to the homestead and my stomping ground as a youth, yet i have never seen it
We had an audio described tour as you wander around the site.
The unearthed stonework is exceptional.
After our visit there, we headed home for lunch and picked paige up for our next trip out
Views from the the house
On our way out you could see the haze from burning the heather on the grouse moors
We ended up traveling to wallington hall to see the walled garden starting to bloom. It is so sheltered the temperature was above 20 degrees
The trouble with a trip to somwhere like this on a hot sunday is people, as in to many. And you always get the feckers that have no respect for others hard work. Would you let your kids kick a football around inside a formal garden! I don’t think so unless your in the kappa slappa brigade and think adidas jog pants are the height of fashion.
On the way back we came across large workings on the moors, the only things it could be is windfarms or firing points for otterburn range.
Anyway i’m home and adout to tuck in to a bottle of red. TTFN.
