What a grand day, a little bit haze the further east towards the north sea coast but all in all a warm pleasant day.
Started the day by checking the camera trap and stocking the feeder
Dont think we have had any squirrel action
This is the mix of food for the feeder
On the way out of i took this shot of a heavily lichen’d hawthorn. The colours are going to be nice as spring progress’s
And we gathered rather a crowd of well wishers on the way back to the landrover, don’t think they would like hazelnuts though.
Job done, it was off to a son of the republics house for coffee and biscuits.
Cragside is the former home of lord armstrong, the formost victorian industrialist north of the boundry wall
Its a great place. You can spend the whole day in the house and grounds, dogs allowed in the grounds and with plenty of space its easy to get lost.
There are suprises around some corners, this is carved from the but of a fallen redwood tree
And the rock garden is a splendid display.
So thats today, tommorow we head of to pastures new.
